BCS 715 w Kohler 8HP Magnum

Hey -- looking at a used BCS 715 w the Kohler 8HP motor, 24 in tiller and 26 inch snowblower. Says seals were replaced on the tiller. Blower looks pretty unused. Price seems a bit high (1800) but I really have no idea. Thoughts on this machine based on my limited info? Kohler motor pretty reliable? I know the 715 is older model. How was it in its day?

A new one would be how much? The tiller attachment probably costs that new. I know many repower them pretty easily. If it does what you need doing, and the price seems ok to you, I say go for it. Not many bcs machines for sale used around me.

8 horsepower is more than enough to do any amount of work a two wheeler can do. My 7.6 HP gravely can bush a rotary plow through hard packed unplowed clay. Good luck with your decision.

Yeah -- a 710 is $2300. 24 in tiller about $1k 24 blower about $1400. So $4700 new minus shipping. Still --- we 're looking at an older machine.

That 8HP Kohler is a hoss, plenty of power. I had a 825 with one, loved it.Made me fall in love with the BCS equipment. The main reason I upgraded to a 850 is the steering brakes on the 850. Price doesn't seem too bad.
