BCS: rotary plow vs. rear tine tiller

/ BCS: rotary plow vs. rear tine tiller #11
/ BCS: rotary plow vs. rear tine tiller #12
I have all three, rotary plow, tiller, and plows that can hill. They all do different jobs very well. The rotary plow is awesome at turn soil, digging furrows/trenches, making raised beds. The tiller is great at tilling and leaving a fairly smooth soft surface. The plows do just what plows are supposed to do, move dirt into hills/make rows. Trying to till between rows with a rotary plow would be a disaster. Using the tiller between rows can work if you plan for the wide rows, even if you remove the outer tines. It could work on long straight rows with few turns, but the BCS is a beast, 7-8 ft long and not easy to turn at the end of the row, so planning is important. Great machine, not cheap but well worth it. Maybe consider spreading out the implement purchases. I have a BCS 850 with lots of attachments collected over the years, and the only one I am considering selling is the Bio 100 chipper/shredder, I just don't use it enough.
