Beacon Light for LS Cab tractor

Got a beacon light kit from LS for my tractor today. Easy to mount and the wiring and switch were already installed so was pretty much plug and play. There was an extra outlet in the box and was told by the dealer that some tractors come with a plug and need the outlet. Cost about $200.

Thanks for the picture Deerherd. Is that the factory mount? I am looking to upgrade to a XR4046 sometime this year and the dealer asked if I wanted the beacon light. It would be great for the few times I might plow the county road, but I will also spend a little time in the woods and am afraid of catching a limb with it. The mount in your picture makes me feel more secure about it. I was afraid it would be mounted to the top center of the cab roof.

Yes, it's the factory mount and it doesn't stick up much higher than an inch over the roof. It is a very solid mount that attaches to a pre drilled tab on the cab.

I did put some heat shrink on each end of the plastic covering, it was about 1/2" shy at each end and you could see the wires. Had to take off the plug (1 screw) to get the heat shrink on but took 5 minutes. I'm sure it would be fine without doing that, it's just gave it a better finished look.

Would it be possible to take a picture of that plug? I want to use that but I bought a strobe bar and they won't sell just the plug. I'm trying to figure out what it is.

The plug looks like any 12v aux plug, only smaller. (Center pin and side spring contacts) I measured the extra outlet I have and it's 12mm. The manufacturer is COBO of Italy. Will try and get photo once it stops snowing. Here's a photo of the outlet.

Well it only has a contact on one side, so it is a little different.

I think it's called a "Hella Type" plug.

I found out that BMW uses the plug on their motorcycle so you may find it at a local BMW store or you can pick up one at your John Deere dealership by getting part #RE11344.

thanks , that is great, I found them on Ebay but they were in Australia. I am assuming this is a European design. It looks to be a lot better than the US cigarette lighter plug in.

Do you have a part number for this kit? I’m sure I’ll have to modify it for my tractor but New Holland doesn’t offer anything like this.

I can’t seem to find the part number but any LS dealer could order it. You may want to look at other options if you are going to have to modify it, it’s a little pricey. Especially if you don’t have the Hella outlet and mounting bracket on your tractor.

Here's the LS number for the beacon lamp. Pretty sure its the same for all LS cabbed tractors.

Here's what I use. Just had to install a flat steel bar across the roof for the light magnets. Mine hasn't moved and still works after 2 years on the tractor.

Does the beacon light kit from LS come with one or two lights?
My 4140 cab has mounts and receptacles on both sides.

Same here. Apparently LS and NH have same mounts and power receptacles

Found 2 at my local LS dealer $140 each. Thank you for that part number.

Why? Why would anyone spend $200 on a strobe when you can buy one from Amazon for $20? Makes no sense to me. This is not an item that "Quality" would make a huge difference.

Bracket is why I did and it’s prewired. I’m in a busy highway blowing snow and I don’t want some ambulance chasing lawyer saying he couldn’t see me.
