Bracket is why I did and it’s prewired. I’m in a busy highway blowing snow and I don’t want some ambulance chasing lawyer saying he couldn’t see me.

Thanks. That makes perfect sense. The mounting arm looks pretty skookum and much nicer than anything I could cobble together.

I didn't buy the factory strobes because they look like they would stick up too far and easily get caught on tree branches snapping them off. I also want to be seen when out by or on the road so I bought the low profile magnetic strobe and only had to fab a metal bracket to the cab roof to stick it on. I fed the wire in through the back right window and plug into the cig lighter plug. I haven't seen any posts from anyone that has broken a factory strobe yet but can see it happening.

I don’t even see them they’re directional and are higher than line of sight.

For those interested, my dealer has just the mount for the light for $25. Then just add a less expensive light.

For those getting the plug, your going to want a 90 degree low profile one otherwise you won't be able to open your rear side window. (At least on the 3135)

Truth be told the light is garbage but the way the mount is built unless you find a light with same footprint it’s not going to mount without modifications.
