Bean Pump / Sprayer question

Hi Folks,

OK, so I've got this spray tank that is meant to tow behind a lawn tractor:

I don't know how old it is, but it's got a Bean pump driven by a B&S 5 hp, with a 50 gallon tank. I inherited it from Grandma along with her '78 Wheel Horse. They sure don't build lawn tractors like that anymore!

I'd like to use this spray tank & pump for my apple trees, but I can't find a rebuild kit - or even a reference - for a Bean 2030 anywhere. Can anyone offer any suggestions on where I can find parts for this pump?

They've been around early on, haven't they?

If you go to Google & look up "Spartan power sprayer" you'll find a1948 Popular Mchanics ad for them!

Actually Bean invented the sprayer, and formed the company in the 20's, turned into one of the big conglomerates, FMC:

None of that gets you a rebuild kit, but lotta companies to search through.

John Bean sprayers are now owned by Durand-Wayland, Inc., and are located in LaGrange, GA. Their website is here: John Bean Sprayers. You might contact them to find out if they still rovide parts or have sold off the Spartan brand to someone else. Many of the FMC products did not survive the metamorphsis of the company.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to get a rebuild kit before I pulled it apart, but it looks like I'll have to pull it apart first to find out the details of what parts it's got. Dimensions will help me find - or make - parts.
