Bearing buddy-greasing intervals

How often do you grease? Our horse trailer will sit for a couple months then go on a pretty long haul of 300+ miles one way. I usually inject 2-3 pumps of grease before we go. Too much? Concerned about seal blow out, but do not see any signs of that. Thoughts??

Real BBs have a spring and indicator to prevent overfill. I would expect 1 pump after 4 trips to be adequate.
