Congrats Dennis. Actually I just bought a used '96 870 today also. 146 hours 440 FEL quick attach with forks and a 72" brush hog. It gets delivered on Monday. I have a JD Gator but this is my first JD tractor. Hope they both turn out to be as great as all these JD lovers say they are. 7

Cool sound like you did great. I just ordered a 300X loader today from the local dealer who will also install it. The owner of the dealer today told me that the 870 was a great tractor and that I could expect many years of use out of it.
