I mentioned Coastal for reasons of "designated" selling areas, You would have to make sure that TYM and possibly Montana or whatever else is sold around you is not in protected selling areas by the prospective tractor manufacturer,, Funny, I just came back from showing an old Chrylser dealership located right on I 84 and the CT/MA state lines to a young man thinking the exact same as you. Only difference is,, this place has failry new gas and fuel tanks which is helpfull.

If you don't know, there is also a Kioti dealer in Bridgewater CT - again, not too far from you.

Kioti's rule of thumb is 50 miles between dealers, unless the existing dealer(s) agree to the new dealer location.

Thats about an hours trip from my location

I have talked to the Montana rep in connecticut and he said as long as my place doesn't look like a fly by night deal there more than willing to have another dealer.

I plan on carrying one tractor line and maybe a mower brand or a mini skid steer brand. I want to be small. My showroom is going to be very small. I want the rest of my building to be for parts support and repairs.

this is going to be my second business.my other business is run by myself and family members.the tractor business will be run by me only

Kioti doesn't even reply to my emails nor do they call me back. I figured maybe someone on here knows some stuff about there operations so I don't have to waste anymore of my time calling and leaving messages

A tractor shop Sacramento, CA used to carry Kioti but dropped that line because it didn't sell well. He may have also experienced Kioti not returning his calls.

There are alot of things that can put a business out of business.
A company whose product you are selling not returning a phone call or 2 usually isn't what does it.
There are alot of Kioti dealers out there.
I'm sure some of them have had their calls not returned and they are still in business.
It's been a good long time since I have had an email or phone message go unanswered.
It would have been a TM that was supposed to call you.
Alot of the communication with TM's are done by cell phone.
These guys are on the road constantly, so it's possible to lose a message in the message graveyard.
I would give them another call and see how it goes.

Hi,
Don't E-mail, you should call 1-919-374-5100 and ask to someone in dealer development. They will point you in the right direction.
They have been extremely busy with their yearly dealer meeting recently.
Good Luck,
KiotiDave

Hey Dave you are in the upper valley good people up that way, what do you know about the group that is selling Kioti down in the Hooksett / Manchester area? I stopped by there when I was looking and was very worried about the fly-by-night operation.

Very interesting and very good to know. Why such a long distance? Where I am in Michigan, there are only three Kioti dealers that I even know about, and the closest is 40 miles away - 2nd closest is 80 in another direction. My closest Deere, Kubota, CASE IH and NH dealers are only 10 miles away. There are additional Deere, Kubota and NH dealers in other directions only 15-20 miles away. Lots and lots of options. I don't worry about any of them disappearing, and if by some chance they did, I know I would have several other options within a reasonable distance.

I'm only harping on this because lack of dealer options was the biggest factor against Kioti for me. I was very impressed with the tractors; while the price was only slightly better than other brands for what I was looking at, the product seemed great. But the closest dealer was too far, and if they dropped the line or went under the next closest was way, way too far. I think Kioti may need to rethink their territory arrangement.

I agree. 30 miles should be sufficient.

Wayne,
I think they are part of the Massey/Agco dealer on Rt. 4 in Northwood.
