Yesterday evening the client interupted my welding. "Harvey we're being invaded by bees!!!"

I flipped back the hood to see a swarm of bees around his small Bradford Pear tree. "They won't bother us while they're swarming." I went back to welding.

It was a pretty awesome sight once they settled down.

Thet were still there this morning. The client wanted to let his dog out but was nervous about the bees.

I started a fire upwind from the tree. When it got going I put some dandelions and other really green stuff on the fire to make smoke.

I figured the smoke would make the queen decided to move and take her brood with her.

That didn't work. So I placed a piece of pvc into the mass of bees in the tree and put the other end of the pvc into the fire. I figured the bees would like the smell of burning plastic about as much as I do.

That didn't work either.

So the client washed them out of the tree.

They found the ground just as comfy as the tree.

My camera doesn't have a zoom. But when they're in a swarm mode you can stick the camera right into their midst with impunity.
