Actually not every time you step on the brakes unless the light comes on then too. My parking light only comes on with the parking brake not the foot petal brake. The problem is that if you get off the seat, for instance to use a pto chipper or backhoe, the backup alarm would sound unless it times out. Another option would be a switch to turn it off but I think that would defeat the purpose of it. I still searching to see if I can find a solid state timed relay for low cost to work in your circuit.
