Sound's funny, but it works!

Back in the early 80's I was raising cattle for a high school FFA project and get money to start college. About 40 miles away we had an alcohol plant that made alcohol for gasohol. They sold the grain after it hand been used in the alcohol process for feed. It still had some alcohol content and the cows loved it.

That all stopped when the plant got a load of seed corn by accident. The chemical on the out side of the corn produced something in the milk that caused cancer in people. A lot of dairy farms were feeding the grain. The plant had to stop selling the grain all together.

( Beer is ok but this is how the whole stupid mad cow thing got started. In those feedlots they feed cattle everything. It's always best to buy from a reputable breeder or rancher that feeds his cattle out on good old hay and grain. Much better beef and better for you. )

Not to muddy the waters, but Mad Cow disease was caused by feeding cattle the parts of the slaughtered cattle that were not marketable for any other purpose. The same thing happened to humans (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) that were treated with growth hormones that were produced from the pituitary glands of human cadavers. This is the type of genetic engineering that gives genetic engineering a bad name.

Exactly my point. It wasn't only cows that were fed but other parts as well from other animals. Buy your beef from a reputable ranch and you will never have a worry.

MF1455v, Jack Daniels distillery in South Mid Tn. sells various by-products of their processes. Local farmers buy these products for livestock feed. The by-products vary in protein content and are priced accordingly.
