Befco 4" rotary cutter (brush hog) run CCW?

I ran across a heck of a deal on a free 4' befco brush hog. The rear part of the deck where the rear mount for the wheel attaches was cracked and seperated. Easy fix...

Now, since I haven't located a PTO reverser for less than I paid for my tractor.. can I run this cutter in a CCW direction? I would have to put some kind of edge on the blades. What about the attaching bolts? will a double nut work, or should a get a keyed bolt/cotter pin, or lust look for left hand thread bolts and nuts? The gear box shouldn't matter what direction it turns as long as it has oil right?

Hey, did you ever get this figured out? If the PTO yoke that slips on the tractor is the standard 6 spline it should be CW not CCW. I just bought a used 4 footer today for $325.

No it's been on hold, still need to fix the rear wheel. My pto is Definately counter clockwise, but I have a splined adapter that makes it the STD 6 spline. Haven't found an affordable reverser yet.

I was going to get ahold of befco and see their thoughts but it's been on the back burner.
