teg- Nice job on that road. Remines me of the road in Bald Eagle State Forest in PA that leads to Penns Creek in Weikert.
The road was done with a 6' box blade and the FEL (mainly used for putting dirt where I wanted). I made several passes with the rippers on the box blade down (that's the photo that you are talking about). I had the BB tilted on the uphill side and only worked the high side. The BB didn't carry or move much dirt at this point but the dirt did roll out on the downhill side. The rocks I un-earthed needed a helping hand... to be moved from the road - used as fill on the low side. I then would move towards the middle of the road (still tilted) to move the dirt more to the downhill side, until I had a semi-flat road.Woodworkerman said:Great job on the road!
In your second from last picture on the first post of the thread I can see that you have the road roughed up nicely. The rocks are all exposed and the roots are broken. What implement did you use for this....box blade or some kind of tiller? Thanks.
