Here's a photo of the lengthened steering linkage. I'm embarrased to say that I haven't even started the tractor since making these modifications. I have no idea how this will effect the steering except that I know I won't be able to turn as tightly.

Did you do a before and after test of the turning radius? Just curious what difference 5" makes.

Looks good. I'm certain that you will be much happier with a mid mounted mower than a front mounted. You made the right decision.

No, I didn't do a "before" test of turning radius. I did finally get the tractor out of the garage last night. My 7 year old son wanted to drive it, so I started it up and took it out. I didn't measure the turning radius, but it does seem very different from the driver seat than it did before. The 4x4 works quite well, and I didn't notice any rubbing noises from the front driveshaft. I could probably calculate the turning radii (before and after) by making some measurements.

Now on to the deck mounting brackets!
