Hi everyone. I'm trying to figure out what hydraulic motor, and belt driven pump do I need to power snowblower? Snowblower needs 570 rpm, and 28hp to run. I'm gonna run my pump in gmc 1 ton truck with a serpentine belt. Can this be done? Thank's for all the help!!

Welcome to TBN

Before we get into specifics, how much money are you willing to spend on this project? You will need a lot more than just a pump and motor.

One of the main problems however is that the pump will have to operate at such a wide variety of RPM's since your engine is not at a constant speed. Snowblowing requires slow moving forward, and at the low RPM there may not be sufficient flow from the pump to get the blower moving fast enough to do any real work.

What is this blower from?

Kenny is right, the best way to accomplish this is to have a separate engine driving the pump.
The pump that there was a reference to in the other post is not a good choice, you have a serpintine belt and that pump uses 2 A belts this pump should not be used with any other accessory's PS A/C or ALT on the same belt since the amount of tension required would put a large load on the bearings of the accessories.

I was sure he mentioned serpentine belt for his truck, and the pump uses a serpentine belt. These pumps are made for use on large trucks.

The main problem is the 2000 RPM requirement...

I would be more concerned if he could get his speed low enough to use the blower.

Is D1 using automatic transmission, or low range on a manual transmission not slow enough for snow blowing. My 4WD F-250 has a granny gear that is very slow. The truck speed will be determine by the volume of snow one is trying to remove.
