I straightened 1/2 doz. bucket curl cylinder rods off tractors in my press with never any problems . It's very easy to get them back within a few thou . One of my own I straighten twice shortly after I got my first tractor and 6,000 hrs. later when I sold it the cylinder still held and the seals had never been done. Industrial machines are a different story the rods are far more brittle and you can only straighten a very slight bend & should use extreme caution.
On a tractor curl cylinder rod after it's been straightened you can always flip it over when reinstalling ( may require drilling and taping for the grease nipple).
