I do the same thing...

I read and answer the posts in chronological order all the time... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Now with the super growth of TBN... it's so hard to keep up and read most everything like we use to...(next to impossible now... even Muhammad would be hard pressed to read it all.../w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif)... then someone asks you a question...you find out a couple weeks or months later... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: Bent PTO shaft - Update

I guess the first time the top link must have been extended all the way for it to hit.

Brad, how did he get the toplink to connect if it wasn't as long as the first time?

Also, I know this might be hard to answer, but how much force do you need to use to extend and reinsert the drive shaft section that connects to the PTO? Mine moves in and out smoothly but it takes quite a bit of pushing/pulling.

Mike,
Between the time the tractor was delivered and the time he came out to work on the bent shaft, my hydraulic top cylinder came in and I installed it. I didn't ever use it with the original toplink.

Re: Bent PTO shaft - Update

Brad, any pictures of the hyd top link? Also, did the dealer shorten the new driveshaft? I ask because yesterday was the firt time I hooked up my BB60 to my TC25D and I didn't need to shorten my driveshaft. With the BB60 in the full up position, I had to extend the driveshaft about 6" from the fully closed position in order to reach the PTO.

As an aside, that driveshaft is heavy! Not to mention it's just a bit inconvenient to reach around the protective collar, slide back the whachamacallit, push forward to engage on the PTO, etc.

When you transport, do you lift the cutter completely off the ground or allow the tail wheel to carry some of the weight?

Re: Bent PTO shaft - Update

Mike,
I've attached a picture of my TnT setup. It is a little dirty. If there is anything in particular you're interested in, I can take a better picture.

The dealer did not cut the shaft. It fit just fine as is. It does take some effort to slide in and out, but not excessive. It does take quite a bit of oomph to get it to spin enough to line up the splines.

I haven't decided about transporting it. I had thought it would be better to let the tailwheel support some of the weight, but it seems to bounce around more like that. If I raise it up more, almost no bouncing. So I'm not sure which is better.
