Even with the heated suit?

I think the young kid with the girl and the hospital bills said something like an ounce an hour!! No way his costs are close to that. But that would be a suck job diving for 5 hours or more a day to hope and get that rate, also you cant work but so many days a year due to winter ice and the weather and storms.

Diving is exhausting and they are handling the suction dredge. Just imagine moving around in the water for that long! They will sleep good when they get to bed!
They are using Hookah rigs (compressor and hose) instead of SCUBA tanks. That and shallow water (under 33' ) give them unlimited bottom time so it comes down to endurance.
I wonder how much fuel is used to "row " the barge out using the backhoe?

They rowed a bardge with twin backhoes on mythbusters (maybe it was just one?) a few months back on the last run of new shows they had. Said they saw it on a viral internet video.

Rowing a barge with an excavator is pretty common practice here in the river. Especially in the shallows for dredging boat slips. I have rowed a few miles on one once with a 300 Komatsu.

HTe closest thing we had to gold dredging here was in the 80's was mussel diving. It had a compressor and that ran an air line down by the opening of the suction pipe and would suck up the big mussels .

I am sure we are in for a bunch of unbelievable drama, but that big barge crew found more gold in just a few hours of digging than the Hoffmans have found all season. Look next season for the Hoffmans to be dredgeing somewhere with a barge and that big 400 trackhoe of Jack's stuck on the end of it. LOL

That is what I was thinking, for how much $$$$ the Hoffman's have p!$$ed away in Alaska and the Klondike they could have had one mac-daddy barge going in Nome and actually made some $$$ while living high on the hog compared to the other barges.

I cant seem to find out when this show is on. I have looked on discovery and TLC but found nothing. Does anybody have a link to show times.

Yep New episodes are on friday 10pm after GoldRush. You will probly catch it one weekend and they will play it all.

They advertise all the time in the other Docu-reality shows. Just watch Gold rush and dont fast foward through the commercials and you will see it.

This is where i recommend a DVR you set it to tape new or all and dont worry about it untill the TV folks screw up the dates on new shows and you dont tape up!!! Grrrrr.
