jenkinsph,
thanks for posting those pics! That looks very similar to what i have to work with! especially with all the obstacles in the way. so did you get those results as you described above? with tilling and rock bucket? Is that a land planer you are dragging behind the Deere in the photo (hard to see through the tree)?

Man that's a lot of rocks! Just lay then out flat fill the areas inbetween with concrete and paint it green. Oh I guess I give up pretty quickly! :confused3:

Used the 110 tlb to dig up stumps, move rocks to build berm on edge of property and relay topsoil from front street to rear lawn area. Used 4520 tractor with Gannon boxblade to dig, smooth and spread topsoil. Used x749 to rake, smooth, seed and roll around trees. The owner of this property is a good friend and good customer so whatever it takes to make him happy.

I should add alot of the rock was moved before I had the brains to take the first picture. When the septic tank and field were put in they left a large pile of rocks all over the yard. This being on a mountain top the yard is 90% rock.

Leonz- thanks for the tip about gypsum and lyme, good to know. And yes the tractor does vibrate a bit, especially all the loose pins. Within an hour after i got this machine i stuffed fluffy pine cones into each pin area to keep 'em from rattling. nothing fancy but did the trick.

We just learned about Gypsum to eliminate the clay properties from your soil last year, and are in the process of buying several bags to start treating dads garden. He has grown many crops in the 50 years he has lived there and never knew there was a way to solve the clay issue...
