I know this isn't the sealer needed for this application, but has anyone ever tried a product called "Seals All" in a yellow and red tube? It isn't affected by gas, and does a great job of holding.
About eight years ago, I broke the plastic inlet fuel nipple off of the carb. removing the fuel line from an old Briggs engine. Used Seals All to glue the nipple back on, and it held till about a year ago when I rebuilt the carb. and installed a new part.
It's kind of hard to find...but pretty good stuff when gasoline is involved.
