I just was in the states and picked up a pair of womens jeans form Walmart and they have an elastic waist, oh man is that comfy. The best pair of shorts far and away from any ther pair of shorts I ahve ever owned I also picked up at Walmart, they are called Dri-Star. I like all cotton and this particular pair of shorts is all cotton wiht the elastic waist having 3 rows of stitching and in the crotch they insert another piece of material kind of like int he shape of a U that goes on the inside fo the shorts. Think I paid $7 and if you can get your hands on those shorts buy 'em. I bought the last 2 pairs of mens medium waist = 32/34, and when I shopped by the Walmart by my mom they didn't have any men's medium. These shorts for the unbelievabley low price are the best shorts we have ever had They ahve good pockets and that dri weave in there really really works, these shorts keep you much cooler especially in the crotch area, which is probably more important for the men then for women since all you guys have more anatomy in that area then women. My husband loves his pair. I am wearing a pair right now, that's how I can describe them so well. On the left leg is embrodered a letter S wiht a star next to it. I have e-mailed my kids to see if they can find these shorts by their Walmarts. They are the coolest, and i mean by temperature but also the style is nice, shorts I ever had. The quality is really there, even the hem on the leg is double stitched.

Rox, are any of these the ones you're talking about? It does appear that these may be polyester instead of cotton.

I'll 2nd the Costco house brand. Have a couple pair, $12.99. Have to destroy 3 to match one pair of Levis.

Has anyone purchased the brand called "Prison Blues"?

I second the Members Mark pants... At my job, I often encounter chemicals that eat clothing so spending much money on pants is a waste.

Battery acid does a number on cotton... maybe I should sell em on Ebay
as acid washed? I saw some holey jeans on a rack at the mall awhile back so
why not? :)

I've been wearing Rustler Jeans for twenty years or so. They're sold at Walmart and K Mart. They're comfortable, wear well, and cheap. My wife would wait until they would go on sale three for the price of two and buy me six pair at a time.

I've got Wranglers for dress, they're lightly starched and ironed at the cleaners.

Jeans and t shirts are consumables in my line of business, literally and figuratively.

I always have to try on any brand to see how they fit. I don't care for the quality of the Faded Glory jeans, but they fit me right and are cheap enough that I don't mind too much that they wear out pretty quick. Seems they usually develop a tear right at the left back pocket tack stitch. When that gets noticeable they become my work-in-the-garden jeans. I probably have six pairs in various states of decomposition right now, including the pair I'm wearing, which does have the beginnings of the back pocket tear. If I had to wear anything but jeans to work I'd be looking for a different job. My other pants all hang in the closet until I have to wear them to go out "fancy", and most of them have to be dusted off and the hanging wrinkles ironed out before I can get them past SWMBO.

Bird,

The shorts I bought are not listed on that Walmart website, I wish they were I would order on line. The ones I bought are a soft knit cotton, like grey sweat pants but withut the fuzz on the back fo the fabric, a soft cotton knit. Theya re not the mesh or polyester which I never got used to.

I hope my kids find 4 more pairs size Mens medium. I asked them to look at their Walmarts but who knows if thye will find the time to do so.

I bought a pair of Walmart's Wranglers and a pair of their Faded Glory jeans. They have only 5 belt loops, where all I have bought elsewhere have 7. Must be so they can meet Walmart's cost goals. I have found Costco's Kirkland jeans a better buy.
