Best choice for 4x4 mower

An X728 or X728 would work just fine on this slope. I have mowed with one of these machines on a steeper slope and with weights on the front and four wheel drive engaged it climbs the hill with the greatest of ease.

Always mow straight up and down and it will mow fine.

Group Size A =
BX2230 or 2350
JD 2210 or 2305
JD x728 or x748

Group Size B=
Kubota BX1500 or 1800 series
CC 2500 or 3000 series
------------------------------------
I would feel safer on the slopes with the tractors in group B because they are smaller than the tractors in group A

Thanks everyone for all the input. I recently checked the JD site and discovered the X749! It has All wheel drive, and 4 wheel steer with a 6" uncut radius! So, I ordered one :D .

I'm too late on this thread but congrats on the order, but I haven't seen anyone ever consider a few models of Husqvarnas 4wd articulating riders. They look low and maneuverable.

Did you test drive the X749 to see how stable it felt on the slopes you were concerned about before you ordered one?

Should be here in a couple weeks. Of course it will likely be parked for several months.

No, I have not test drove any. I ordered it sight unseen! I don't know what came over me! 10 plus year ago, I just drooled over the 445/455's, but never could get one...

1*Sorta like me and the bx1500.I bought the BX1500 without trying one out here . dodn't even drive one at a dealers before buying.
had reseravtions-concerns about How stable it would be on my 2 side slopes while mowing side ways across the slopes like I do with my Cub Cadet GT2554 garden tractir.I also questioned if the tiller would work like I need it to.
Both apprehensions turned out to be unfounded.

2*20 years ago I tried to buy a Kubota but the deal fell through.
It was 20 years later that I finally got my BX23.

The 749 is supposed to be a great machine. I think you made a really solid choice, even with the "sight-unseen" purchase. I can say the 595 I owned, which was a great little tractor, would mow up a tree. The only reason I traded it was that I needed something that would operate a FEL better and that took me on a journey that has now included five tractors. Even though I love the tractors I have owned, the 595 was a special machine. I suspect the 749 will be even more impressive due to its heightened manuverability.
