best finish mower brand for $

I have a 5ft Befco Rear Finish Mower. I would highly recommend them. This is my second finish mower by Befco. I first had a 6ft Befco. I used it for 8 years without a problem. I mowed grass that was a 1ft tall with it and it never gave me a problem. That is more than I would ever cut with it but I had no choice. Just showing you that it is a well built machine. I would give it a look over anyways. You will be happy with what you see.

Thanks for all the tips, Befco is made just an hrs. drive from me & a local dealer spoke real highly of their quality so I'll go see this dealer who carries their line & compare. This same dealer once sold Woods & feels Befco is a better mower for the $ & services easier. I want to make sure it's not sales talk. Another Kioti dealer sells a Kioti mower which is priced near a Woods. If my tractor dealer stocked the Kioti mower then I could include it in the overall finance deal & save $$$.

I think you said it well, Landpride uses a good mix quality and afforability. I have a 84" Landpride rear discharge mower. I am sure there are plenty of other great finish mowers avaialable and everyone will have to judge for themselves. What I like about mine is the the entine curved leading edge must be made of 3/8" steel and no amount of stumps of rocks can bend it, at least yet. I also run a beast of a brush mower made by Wodds, its a DO80 which is offset to the right about 2'. It is very heavy, has chains on front and back and 2 spindles for a total of 4 swinging blades. I plan to sell it with my International 454D, a 40 PTO HP tractor that runs is like it wasn't there. Rat...

You'll find that several of us have owned them. I had the RDTH60 (60" rear discharge) with my B2710. I figure there are others just as good, but I can't imagine one I'd like any better.

My boss has a Landpride 84" RD and really likes it plus the can be bought for a decent price too.
It seems like he paid around $1850.

i just purchased a bush hog rear discharge 72 inch last week. it looks bulletproof to me. the cut is smooth, but i don't know that the side discharge wouldn't leave less clippings. paid 1600 for the mower.

I've been using a BushHog RDTH (72") finish mower for about 2 years now behind my TC45D with no complaints. Cut about 8-9 acres with it weekly. Get some windrowning with it down one side of rear, but that is only when I let the grass get too high (6-7")....otherwise no complaints. Ran me about $1600 when I got it.

Best for the money spent would put First Chice/Sicma in the running with a 7 ft going for under $1500--Rear discharge is our best seller 10 to 1--Ken Sweet

I've got an ATH600 by Bush Hog that came as a package with my very old L210. It is a side discharge, and I think I would probably prefer a rear discharge. However, the ATH design, or Air Tunnel in the literature, does apparently allow me to cut high and wet grass better than some designs. Since I've only used this mower, I really have no comparison, but from what othrs have said, I seem to have maybe less trouble with tall grass. I've cut 2 foot tall stuff and only had to slow down to get a decent cut. The thing is build like a rock too.
