I get the Wells Lemont heavy duty leather gloves at our Farm & Fleet. They last very well for me. I even pick up burning logs and throw them back into the fire.

You know.. you should NOT be putting gloves THRU the chipper to test them.. I doubt there is any glove that will stand that.. LOL

I knew I was doing something wrong.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. Maybe I will order a bunch of different ones and do a review after running them all thru the chipper! I'll definitely have to take pictures.

Mike and Brian:

I read your comments on what are the most durable work gloves. I highly recommend any of the Dickies Goatskin gloves or Any goatskin glove sold under the ACE Hardware brand in their stores.

I am the manufacturer and have independantly lab tested the leather vs. cow and pig which is the predominant leather used in work gloves. We have a proprietary process of how we tan our goatskin which makes it significantly more durable than any other leather with the exception of elk. Goatskin is slightly thinner which improves dexterity. Lastly, you can also wash goatskin leather gloves but make sure to air dry. They will be a little stiff at first but will soften up after a few minutes of wear. Hope this helps?

I have no idea who makes them since they are branded with the stores name but I get my double palm leather gloves from Gebos which is a Texas based farm store, I use these when I go after green briar, Mesquite or anything else that requires ruggedness.

Try several, I went through several before I found these and they are 16.00 a pair.

Goatskin is great for dexterity..... not thorns.

I found out the make & brand, Cordova Elkskin work gloves style 97101. I can't seem to find them online and I haven't had to purchase any in a few years since I bought several pairs to last me.
I used these when I was clearing my property, I did go through several before finding these.

Good luck and when you do find some that work..... buy a case.

A few years ago I was given a pair of these for Christmas, Wells Lamont - Style 1060 Heavy Duty Cowhide Leather Gloves, and there the best gloves I have used. There lined for winter use and in the summer the lining doubles as cushioning to protect your fingers. They also work real well in protecting my hands from the barbs on the steel cable that I use to pull out trees. I ended up loosing the original pair after I left them on the fender of the trailer, but I have since bought two more pair so that I have spare's on hand.
