True, however the Glock is one of the few sidearms that you must pull the trigger before you break it down.
I'm guessing Dan's point is that this is one reason why statistically speaking, negligent discharges (note: I did not say accidental discharges) may be higher with the Glock than with other sidearms.
I have a Taurus 9mm that has the same requirement, but my routine is always the same, even when I know it is not loaded: remove magazine, clear chamber, *then* begin to disassemble.
I agree with your description of both "negligent discharge" and your statement not holding the firearm responsible.
It is unfortunate that when this happens to a law enforcement officer it makes the headlines, as if LEOs are immune from such careless behaviors - although they certainly should (and do) know better.
