Best of best tag along equipment trailers?

This may seem like a dumb question but is it possible the OP may be using a 2" ball and the trailer requires a 2 5/16". That would cause bumping / jerking. It happened to me once. I have several trailers using 1 7/8", 2", and 2 5/16". With a tri ball hitch it's easy to forget to switch to the right ball.

You really have to look at everything in the construction to compare. Is one I-beam and the other channel? Is the A-frame part of the tongue constructed the same on both trailers? Are the tongues the same length? I have seen some trailers with longer hitches because somone wanted to put a big tool box or chain tray up there, and if not made heavy enough the hitch can flex a little and cause jerkiness.
