Best Oil for Kohler Command V -Twins

Curious how many "go against the factory recommended lubricants" and choose oils based on their own bias.
Most threads would say "stick with the factory , they know".
Oil preference is so personal.

Kohler recommends 10w30 in all their engines except the larger 38-40 hp engines which require 20w50 oil. I have a piece of equipment that says use only 10w30 and the engine manufacturer doesn't even supply that weight of oil The chooses from the engine manufacturer are 30w or 5w30 synthetic blend.

I run 5-40 Rotella T5 in everything including my zero turn with a 25 horse Kowalski. Never an issue. I do pull the shroud yearly and blow out the crap. Air cooled engines need cooling air....
700 hours on the Kowalski, no issues other than a valve adjustment. Incidently, the Generac extra capacity spin on oil filters fit the Kowalsaki, I use them, change the oil every fall.

Amsoil small engine 10w30 is all you will need. As well as amsoil 20w50 hydro fluid for the tranny.
