Up until this point I've bought all my seed local, either from from the local Agway, Blue Seal Feeds or the now defunct CT Farm & Country stores. One thing I know grass seed ain't cheap, at least around here. Half the time they never have what you want when you want it either.
CT carried K31 fescue which was the least expensive about $35.00 for 50 lbs and the Blue Seal store had Fawn tall fescue for around $60.00 each for 50 lb bags, I preferred the Fawn over the K31.
Agway sells a Timothy/Red Clover mix. Nice stuff but real expensive. My wifes stepdad uses this for his hay grass. 50 lb bags are more than $100.00 each retail.
Around here Agway also carries some nice lawn blends of rye/bluegrass etc. Still expensive though usually up around $75.00 for 50lb bags.
There is a large multipage advertisment in the Jan/Feb issue of Small Farm Today for a seed company listing a wide variety of grasses, clovers, and blends. They're offering to pay 1/2 of the UPS shipping charges for orders over 50lbs too. Don't know anything about them. Prices look good though

Maybe some of our Iowa members know of this place?
I need a few bags to cover the newly cleared land I have. For me having seed delivered UPS would beat chasing all around the county for it.
