The depth you want to dig will size the machine for you. Remember fast digging is dipper depth, total depth is very slow.

I'd say go and rent a B21 for a day. You'll either luv it or hate it. Might wanna look at the L39 (or a used L35) too.
Doing the mini-ex and s-steer might be a good combo for ya. The primary downside I can see is it's now 2 machines to maintain/transport/etc. They also will be rougher to the ground (dunno if you care).
It sounds like you're not going to be needing a 3ph for much if anything?

I am assuming a subcompact TLB like the BX24 is much cheaper than the CUT's . . .
Plus, should I stick to my decision of a TLB or go with a skid steer and mini excavator? I personally like the second option.
But at this point I need whatevers cheapest.

It is a very wrong assumption to think a Sub-CUT is "much cheaper" in fact they are not.
If you need whatevers cheapest then go look at the JINMA made machines. You can find them under many different brand names, sold by many different companies including HOMIER, RURAL KING and NORTHERN TOOL. You will be able to buy a communist Chinese Jinma made TLB for less than any of the Korean or Japanese tractors.
Perhaps another choice would be to look at a GREY MARKET import of a high quality tractor. They sell for very very modest prices. Be very careful that you buy from a reputable dealer. I will vouch for Wayne Foreman, he has a stellar reputation and is a member here at TBN who posts under the name LMTC.

You should also look up TRACTOR ERNIE, while I don't know him as well as I know Wayne, he does seem to have an excellent reputation, and is also very knoweldgable.
I would not hesitate to buy a GREY MARKET tractor from either of those two people and I am sure that both will work to get you a machine that would satisfy your needs. Further, I think they will be able to provide you with a tractor at a far lower cost with more capabilities than any brand of SUB-CUT.

Bob, I assume you are using the communist reference in a perjorative sense. Are you sure Jinma is a government owned company? I don't have any idea but as you know the big boom in China's economy has virtually nothing at all to do with the government owned industries but rather is due to the success of good ole capitalist enterprises. It would be wrong to paint all Chinese enterprise as red.

Yes, it is a government owned entity, therefore purchasing their tractors does support the communist government. It is not one of the private enterprised from the formerly free districts like Hong Kong. Even the so-called private enterprised are not private, they are government-private-partnerships and in most cases the communist government owns over 50% of the company. In the formerly free areas, there is still limited private ownership.
Never the less, the Chinese tractors are a good value, they are inexpensive compared to all other brands. Only the used grey market imports seem to be able to beat the Chinese tractor prices.
As this is an issue that is based on price & value, I feel it is necessary to provide the complete information in my posts. Part of that information is that these are communist products, some people will not knowingly support communists, so they should be informed. Others have no problem supporting communits, so the information is not detrimental to their thought process.

It's not part of the their standard tractor, it's an option. I don't understand why it isn't included/required in the purchase of the FEL.

B series Kubotas are relatively lightweight CUTs for their horsepower and while generally capable are really optomized for mowing. The L series are heavier and have a bigger frame. The L's have more powerful engines than the B's with a slight overlap around 28-30hp. There are a slew of other differences but I think it is fair to focus on the weight and size as the important distinctions between the B and L series CUTs.
For the purposes you describe, that is in construction, a different series, the dedicated TLBs would seem best. Kubota nomenclature is confusing and the 21 hp TLB is called the B21 but is not really related to the other B series except perhaps sharing an engine with the 7510 (not sure about that but they have the same horsepower).
You asked earlier about the Kioti CK20 TLB. You could find out about that more appropriately by visiting the Kioti section. A number of us have them and could answer questions.
