Best time to sell a brush hog?

I've got a 5' brush hog that I bought new and only used 3 times. I moved from where I lived before and have no use for it where I am now. Is there a better time of the year to put one up for sale? Would it be easier to sell in the spring or summer than this time of the year?

Spring or summer will get quicker responses and more money, this time of year people have the mentality they won't use it until spring or summer and have to sit on it all winter. BUT you may find that person who's been looking for one and will jump on it, it really is a toss up.

I would go ahead and put it up for sale. If someone offers what you want, great. If not, take it off the market until early Spring. If you leave it on the market too long, people think it is over priced, or something is wrong with it.

Thanks for the advice. I'll put it on Craigslist and see what kind of response I get. If no interest, I'll try again in the spring.

Lots of people around here brush hog some of their overgrown areas once per year, usually in October. I say see if you can get what you want now.

I’ve always heard it’s better to sell farm and construction equipment in the fall because the farmer and construction man has worked all summer and has money in the bank. Come spring time and he’s probably not as well off.

Got my LP 2060 about 3 weeks ago used with maybe 3 hrs use for $1600. cash and a very nice implement too. As I look for used stuff summer or winter it's about price and distance traveled not the time of year, just my opinion. Around here if price is fair it will sell in a snow storm or a heat wave.
