Here's the ditch so far. It's working out great!...except 
... I found the septic tank!
When I had garage build many years ago I plumbed in a bathroom, shower, laundry room. The septic I knew nothing about so I hired my excavator neighbor to put in a small tank, then line going way out which by chance he found end of my drain field. This will help your whole system he said, apparently so no problems 40 years I've been here.
He stopped by couple weeks ago, couldn't remember where tank was, just general idea. I'm digging along carefully when all at once the top flips up! I had no clue what it was at first. I guess I'll put line around it!View attachment 606761
