Best way to remove a broken zerk

I discovered that a zerk on the FEL is broken off flush. I thought about tapping a small flat head screwdriver straight in and trying to then get a bite so I could turn it out, but there does not seem to be anything there to bite on. I also thought about screwing in a self tapping screw and then trying to back that out. But, instead of all that I decided I would ask the question here as I am sure someone else has faced this issue.

Probably the best way would be with a left hand spiral eazy out. If you don't have a set handy, perhaps one of the Torx bits would be the right size, if it wasn't seized in.

+1 on that. I've had many of the spiral type break trying to remove broken bolts. I switched to the square type for that.

A cut nail is another option. They are tapered and hardened. ... If necessary, either grind the tip smaller, or grind some off to shorten until you get to the right size on the taper.
