Just make sure you price it with some "wiggle room".
No matter how fair of a price you put on it the buyer feels some obligation to offer you less. I've had several items from snowmobiles, ATVs, rotary cutter, and a few cars and trucks and each time I've made the mistake of pricing them at a fair market price to start with. In each case the buyer comes back with a lower price "offer".
Now I don't mind the attempt to negotiate but the usual response they give is a take it or leave it approach to which I say leave it. My theory has been to not waste their time nor mine and just list the item at the rock bottom price I will sell it for.
Not any more. I just add $200 to the price I really want and let the games begin. I have to cry a little about how much it hurts to lower my price but it works every time. In the end I sell it for the price I had planned on in the first place but the item gets sold. Additionally, this fellow gets to go home and tell his wife that he whipped me into agreeing to his price.
It seems like a waste of time but it appears to be necessary.
