Plenty of guys doing this with great effectiveness, even in the cold. Just use the right kind of plastic. I've used heavy wall pvc into the 20's without any problem.

But when talking -20 and colder, that is a different story.

Snow removal is much easier after the ground freezes. If it snows before your gravel driveway freezes you will have to do damage control in the spring no matter what type of snow removal equipment you are using.

I hear ya...I'm in Manitoba. The land of -50C.

I use a snow blower butt the same rules apply about knocking / blowing gravel off the driveway.

I just pack the first few snow falls into the gravel using my bucket. Then the base prevents the bucket or blower from getting to the gravel.
