BH Bucket Size?

   / BH Bucket Size? #11
Steve,

I have a JD 48 BH with an 18inch bucket. Seems like a very
good combination for me. Not to large, not to small, just right.

I have dug up lots of large and small stumps. By large I mean
36 inch monster oak and pine. Takes time but does the job. I
think a smaller bucket would cost me more time and a larger
bucket would slow me down for stump digging.

If I was digging most of the time in ground with no rocks then I think the larger buckets would be the best choice. However my ground has a lot of rocks and I plan on digging a lot of stumps so I opted for a 12 inch bucket to focus the force of the backhoe. I think that for at least my situation smaller in this case is better.
