I understand your frustration as you expressed it in your diatribe or dissertation.
I spend a bit of time each morning visiting Amazon.com, Fatwallet.com and Ebay Daily deals hunting for bargains that I don't need.
I hate getting a product that doesn't work or tears up very shortly after purchase. I never/rarely buy extended warrantys because most things that are going to tear up usually do so immediately or in the first month per my experience. When I find one of these cheaper bargains on line, I have to ask myself if I should order it or go to Walmart and pay a few dollars more so I can walk back in to their store, lay the product on their counter and say "I want my money back" and stand there till they process my refund. I know most places on line that are reputable will take the product back and refund the money after I repackage it and pay for shipping it back and call my credit card company and stop payment.
I'm not a pro or con for Walmart. I served my country in war so I could have the choice of where I spend my earned income without guilt of not buying/buying from anyone I choose. I also hate seeing these downtowns going to pot because all the stores are closing but that's life and the old days are gone and people can wish we still had one doctor for a town and had to ride horses to work but it ain't going to happen no more than going back to black and white TV isn't going to happen or getting rid of TV's and going back to radios. So, in summation, the lack of standing behind a defective product and lower pricing have made the Walmarts, Sam's, Costcos flourish. Good or bad, that's the way it is. The "good" old days are gone and Happy Days Are Here.
Just helping you vent.
