Backhoe BH76 Knobs

I'm sure this may sound stupid but I'll ask it anyways...
Do the two backhoe control lever "Knobs" just screw on and off?

I need to remove the top plate and slide it with the rubber boots off. I tried twisting them and the stupid things didn't budge.

Any that I ever removed were just pushed on but it can take a lot of effort to remove them.Twisting them with a strap wrench first should help.

On my BH65 they twist off. No threads.
