Hello all, I'm interested in a used bh77 backhoe on Craigslist, the owner says it's from a 2011 kubota, my question is with the proper subframe will it fit and work on a 2017 L series, is it the same as a brand new bh77, thanks
Lol, just saw a BH77 here in Colorado show up on CL today & had to check where you were. Had similar thoughts, although I can't justify a couple grand for a hoe, much less what it's worth or they are asking.
Getting the proper subframe for your machine should get it hooked up. Subframes to attach to the specific machines are the unique part.
It may not fit all L series tractors. For larger L's they don't show it BH77 being used but call out the BH92. Also depends if ROP/Cab and if Grand L -1, -2 or -3.
FYI... A backhoe requires a Loader to be mounted.
New BH77 lists for around $6844 and subframes are approximately priced between $750 to $1,300.
Keep in mind some hydraulic connections may be needed to complete the package when installing on your tractor.
Suggest calling your dealer to discuss what is needed to install on your specific tractor. Your too vague in specifying a 2017 Kubota L-series.
Looking to purchase a tell L3301 or l3901, the tractor will definitely have a loader and I will probably purchase the appropriate subframe from the dealer, I haven't decided yet whether I will buy the hydraulic kit from a dealer or Plumb in my own 2 spool valve to feed the backhoe,
Does anyone know off hand if the subframe for the l3301 and l3901are the same or do they have their own sub frames
The sub frames are the same for the L3301 and L3901.
I had a B3200 w/ BH76 backhoe and soon realized that I wanted a bigger tractor. I traded that on an L3240 and installed a subframe on that machine without too much trouble.
Description: Subframe required for BH77 to mount on L3200, L3800 (requires LA524/LA524FL Loader) and L2501, L3301, L3901 (requires LA525/LA525FL Loader) Includes fixed seat and mounting kit.
When they say the sub-frame kit includes the "mounting kit", I believe the mounting kit has the hydraulic hardware, but you should check with your dealer to be sure.
I wouldnt count on the subframe having the hydraulics.
You mentioned adding 2 spools... I'm pretty sure Kubota taps into the power beyond loop. The hoe gets plugged into that loop & when its unmounted a jumper hose is used to keep things flowing.
You could plug into the ports on a spool. But the OEM spools for the Ls aren't detented (the OEM valves for the grands just stuck & leak internally by the way). You could just use a bungee cord to hold the un-detented valve open to make the hoe work. A little bit redneck looking , but functionally a perfectly serviceable option. That's the route I would go to avoid messing with power beyond plumbing.
I can not comment any further... I copied what was in the Wholegoods price list and their is no further clarification about the contents of the subframe, nor is there any item number the mounting kit.
Best advice is to contact your dealer armed with the info you've been given.
