A relative works on the air ambulance. He says his biggest customers are bikers... he calls them "donorcycles." His second biggest customers are Jeep-sters.

A major, state of the art, tier I trauma center is located in a rural farming town about fifty miles away. Why? An off highway vehicle area near it. Apparently on weekends and holidays, the beds are full, with a significant fraction of the patients being lifeflighted out to Stanford for organ donation (both ways). The Stanford ER docs that I knew used call the Ninja super sport motorcycle riders "donors on wheels".

Supersport bikes account for a small fraction of owners, but a significant fraction of deaths. In 2022, almost half of the supersport riders deaths were under 30, and supersport riders as a whole accounted for an almost half of all motorcycle deaths, despite being a small fraction of total ownership (10%).

Edit: those were just the under 1,000cc numbers. I misread the column. @DarkBlack corrected it below.

Those are just the ones died. A former friend flipped an ATV, became partially paralyzed and no longer has any memory of us.

Looks like about 20%

That's me, so I'm good to go.

In fact, the wife and I went out for a couple hours this past Friday.
What a nice feeling , wouldn't give it up if my life depended on it!

No... those days are gone....

A young eager receptionist lost her job for a violation.

Went to Carnegie off-road park once and saw a terrible collision...

Teo bikes at full bore coming around a blind spot from opposite direction hit... teen riders.

My 2 friends who I went with both later suffered injuries...

One has a pipe in his leg and later had to go back because he was still growing and the pipe leg was getting short.
