Thanks for your input to this thread. My experiences and opinions are very silmilar to yours on these lumber milling issues. Creating freshly milled lumber does seem to strike a primal chord with many of us. Storing and using the resulting collection of lumber many times, however, becomes a challenge.

Your phrasing here is very interesting. It could be used in modified form by a teenage boy as, "Very few things get me as excited as a really nice piece of ***." I guess a man's collection of milled lumber might share things in common with a teenage boy's collection of "girlie" magazines--driven by passion and of immense immediate value. Too bad the man's mother doesn't step in to manage the lumber collection as she did his magazine collection!Very few things get me as excited as a really nice piece of wood.
