Big pretty moth - - anyone know what kind it is?

You guys are soooo scientific. I'm still trying to figure out how big it is????? Take a pic with a tape measure by it for example??? I've got a rather large moth in my shop bathroom that I gathered several years ago. I'll try to get a quantified picture and post here.

Well, as I said, I found it outside church. Sorry, I failed to put a tape measure in my pocket when I dressed. I picked him up on the church bulletin, if that helps you size it. I'd say the wingspan was about 6-7 inches.
