What do you do with the ice??? I went down my drive yesterday, on the backhoe, trying to scrape through the ice. I busted it up, and was able to get the car out of the drive, but gee whiz!
Our driveway is a long uphill drive from the house to the road, about 800 feet.

I drive on top of it - carefully!

Sand, salt, cat litter or live with it. If my driveway gets too bad it gets some sand, otherwise I just live with it. Springs coming, just not soon enough!

If you know someone who uses coal to heat their home provide them with a couple of 5 gallon buckets & ask them to save you some ashes. Then put those ashes down on that ice. That's the best thing that I know of for ice.

This last big snowfall, I did in about 3 or 4 bites because its A LOT easier to push it with the back blade than to have to resort to the FEL. More than about 4" or so, the blade does it. With snow piled on the sides like we have now, even the blade requires transiting off to the side, raising the blade as one drives into the pile; still quicker than using the FEL Past that, it often requires the FEL.

My 3038e seems lite even with rear filled tires that I usually remove the snow at 2-4 inches to a time. I plow as far as I can then after several passes finish pushing/piling the snow with the FEL.
Of course after I had cleared this last snow fall, my uncle gave me a used set of chains my grandfather used to use on the 8n that I made work with some minor adjustments, but man what a difference on the amount of snow I can pull now. I could have waited until we got all 10-12 inches. Nah jk, I still would /will do it in intervals, easier, safer, and allows for more seat time unless I have my 13yr old son take over.

I'm sure the chains were a major help. I suggest you also put heavy ballast on your 3ph as well (ballast box is best, IMO). The filled rear tires provide a lot of stability, but not much more traction.

I had my fronteir 7' blade on the back. Thought about wheel weights, but the expense. By seeing a hugh difference using chains, I think I'll be fine now.
