Just thought I would post an update on my truck/warranty situation. As luck would have it, one of my dads renters is a Chevy Dealership Mechanic. He is the only certified Duramax tech in the place. He was kind enough to go over my truck with me, to show me how to replace the fuel filter, and check wear items. He also agreed to do any work the truck needs. After going over the truck, and putting the scan tool on it, He thought the oil pressure was low. He recommended an oil change. I told him that the dealership had done it when I bought it. he said that in his opinion either the wrong oil was used, or they never changed it. I had to use a breaker bar on a 1/2 inch ratchet just to get the plug out. Then I broke two oil filter wrenches trying to get the filter off. In the end the mechanic had to get it off. After putting in the factory recommended oil, my pressure went from 35 up to 60, I called the service department up, at the dealership, to get my pound of flesh, and they denied they did anything wrong. I explained to them that the first thing you learn at auto tech school is not to over tighten an oil filter, or drain plug. So either your mechanic is incompetent, or you never changed to oil. Deny, deny, deny. In any case the truck is still running great.

That looks like a real nice setup you have. That trailer looks like it could handle quite a bit more weight. If you have any of the old oil left you can send it out to get tested. If it was just replaced they can tell, if not they can tell you things like what sort of wear your engine has on it.

FWIW, wheel hub rings are a common item on wheels for cars. The Miata almost has to have them with new wheels (light car, very sensitive to changes). And we had to go back to the tire dealer to fix my wifes Subaru last year. We went to a different part of town (big chain) where they have more demanding customers (fancier part of town). All we had to do was tell the floor manager what was happening and he knew immediately what was wrong. 30 minutes later and all was perfect. Obviously, your issue may well have been the wrong wheels, but the hub rings are something like $20 for a car.

Glad life is getting smoother for you!
