Here is a closer picture of the same bucket.
I would definatly get the heavier one, No Question !
Does the bucket truly look modified ? Or is it actually a factory HD ?

Now I am really confused. No, it doesn't look like that last pic. See my pic, notice the top edge of the gray one. Nothing like your last pic. I just got off the phone with the dealer who says he thinks the gray one IS NH factory, they used to be gray. They are delivering this thing in the morning, switching buckets as I type, and I think they are putting on a non-NH home fabbed job. Which, I guess, would be fine, if it got me any benefit. But I want a black bucket, and much prefer to stick to OEM. Now that I have seen your last two pics, I think my dealer is under informed. I want the bucket in your pics.

BTW - NH, as a company, so far seems to suck as far as dealing with them. I went to them directly with this issue, they said they would call me back, next thing I know, my dealer calls me back. Apparrantly they will not answer any quiestions themselves. Starting to get mad... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

PS - thanks for your help, guys. If the factory won't help, and the dealer is mis-informed, who do you have to turn to? TBN /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now that I look at your pics, the home made job just looks like the bottom one in my pics that has been made a bit bigger. The one in your pics looks deeper, which would be better. Maybe that top one is no good, and I should get the bucket like in your pics. I SURE wish NH would friggin' help. Seems like a small thing to ask, but they have their protocol to follow... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I know what would help clear this up...does anybody have actual dimensions on these two buckets (Standard vs. Heavy Duty)? That way, I could just measure the gray one and know. I found out the capacities of standard and hd, but no dimensions. Hopefully somebody here has some numbers...Thanks.

Bobby

Bobby, there is absolutely no difference in the dimensions of the NH heavy duty and standard bucket. The 72" wide heavy duty bucket has some extra reinforcement and weighs 30 lb more. That's it. There are also a 60" buckets for the 16LA loader. All buckets come in Standard, Heavy Duty, and Quick Attach configurations. You can spot the heavy duty buckets by a row of about 8 holes drilled along the front cutting edge lip. These holes are for mounting the NH reversible cutter bar.

The standard duty bucket doesn't have any holes.

My NH bucket is gray, well...at least the part that still has paint on it. My impression is that your dealer is giving you the straight "skinny" on these two buckets. The black one in your picture does not look like an HD bucket to me, but I can't see the front cutting edge, so it's very hard to tell. I'm attaching a photo of the bucket with my chain-on forks attached.

the bucket at the top looks like it had the top cut off and addition material welded in the middle. My bucket has a straight side instead of the doglegged side on the modified bucket.

I think some dealers are putting Woods buckets onto the 16LA loaders and those have a very different shape and size from the NH buckets. From the picture Mark posted, his QT bucket looks like a standard skidsteer bucket instead of the NH one, but perhaps that bucket is just different.

The modified bucket looks very interesting to me. I can get plenty of heavy material into my bucket, but for light material, that modified bucket would be nice. It would also allow you to dig deeper.

Anyhow, I would not jump to any conclusions about your dealer. He truly sounds like he is trying to get you the best deal and equipment. Also, your dealer calling you is NH getting back to you. Your dealer is very much the local voice of New Holland. If they called him to answer your questions, I'd say they are also making the right decision. Put yourself in their place. They don't know you, but they know they have a dealer they trust who does know you and whose job it is to make you happy. I like that attitude myself. If they got in touch with him the same day, that is really fast response time. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
