Biggest used 4wd tractor for $12k?

I may have $12,000 give or take to buy a bigger tractor. I currently have a Kubota B7100 which I use for mowing and plowing the driveway and leveling the ruts out of our trails.

I may need something with an FEL and more power for moving hay and cleaning up after animals. On the used market what does 12k buy in a 4WD preferably with an FEL?

I'd like to stay with something 80's vintage or newer and from a manufacturer still in business.

Anything bigger than the 16hp B7100 will help. I'm trying to find the biggest HP for my money and don't have any real specific requirements.

You can buy a new Kubota L2800 HST for a about that in my part of the country but no FEL with it. Try a used L3400 if you can find one.

You might find a mid-1980s IH Farmall 684 4WD (62 hp pto) with FEL for $12K.

If you want to think bigger, find an early 1980s Case 1594 4WD (85 hp pto) with FEL that probably could be bought for under $12K.

Another possibility: 1980 Ford 7600 4WD (84 hp pto).

I'd look for a ford 5610 with 4wd and laoder. Should be able to squeak that in for that budget.

That NH TC33D is a nice tractor. I called and talked to the guy last week, and he's ready to sell. He had it posted on Craigslist for $14,500, and he dropped the price to $14k and added free delivery (200 miles) on top of that. I was going to buy it until I found the TC33D 50 miles away for $4k less. No super steer, though, and 300 more hours.

GDITheman -- as you can see, you get in trouble pretty quickly around here when you say "BIGGER TRACTOR". We're happy to help people spend money on tractors and other toys.

Having moved from a B7100 to a Case DX29 with FEL, I suspect you really don't want a piece of large Ag size equipment. Can you give us any idea what you'll be doing, how much ground you have, stuff like that? It will generate some more useful answers.

On the other hand, if you really don't have an upper limit on size, you can get tractors almost big enough to park that B7100 under if you don't mind working on them some. A local friend went to a military surplus auction and came home owning a very large Cat dozer in dark military green for about $8k. Just the blade on that thing easily weighs about double, maybe triple what your B does, and that's including the loader. There is no hydraulic down, just gravity, which is plenty. All it needed was a reverse gear.

For the kind of money your talking about, I wish my Ford had a FEL on it, I would sell you it instead of putting the JD on the market. I do like the FWA, but the 7710 is really too big for my uses, but I wanted FWA, and the Ford didn't look nearly as big on the lot as it does in my driveway.
I can relate to wanting a larger tractor. Those were my dreams when I had the Ford 1100, but I think I went a little overkill with the Ford considering my small land holdings.

Start looking around at the local tractor/implement dealers and let it be know what you are looking for and an approximate budget. They might be able to come up with something for a serious buyer.

But please do not forget to make sure that whatever you get power steering is on it!!

While the TC33 is a nice small tractor, it still is a small frame tractor. The 2120 has the same much larger frame that a TC55 has and I believe will be much better suited to your uses.

I pruned all of the posts from this thread that had links to eBay in them. Just as I feared, once we got one eBay link, dozens more popped up.
