Ok guys I sold my old tractor back in the fall. Since it was sold to a friend of a friend and He and I were both busy doing other things at the time we never wrote a bill of sale. Now he wants one for tax reasons. Can't say I blame him, I just don't know what to include.

Anyway this is what I had in mind, tell me, is there anything you would add??

Make... John Deere
Model...2355
VIN #...XXXXXXXX
Details...4x4, open station, canopy
Price...$XXXXXXX USD, paid in full, check #XXXXXX
Tractor sold as is / where is with no warranties whatsoever.

Seller....Sign, Print

Buyer....Sign, Print

Ownership transferred in full... Date

The above is more than enough , plus his cancelled check he should be covered with his taxes. The dealer I bought from put my tractors make & model with serial # on the same handwritten invoice he gives for oil filters, parts ........

Agree with the above poster about legal ownership. I always write something like "I am the legal owner of a jd 4200 with ser # 123. On blank date and time I sold the tractor to buyer as is with no warranty for x dollars." Two original copies signed by both. Include the jurisdiction where the sale occurred too ("Whatcom County, WA").

I know this thread is old but I thought I would ad this for anyone coming along later and reading.

I found a nice bill of sale for tractors online that is a fillable PDF form and it lets you add two photos too.
You can't fill it out and save it (well you can in a round about way, more on that later) so you may need to rpint two copies or if you have a copier just make a copy of the first printed form.

To save you print to a file or if you have MS-Office installed on your computer then you probably have an option in your print dialog box to print to called Microsoft XPS Document Writer. It usually shows up as one of the last printers on your list if you have more than one. An XPS doc is similar to a PDF file. You may also have the capability to print to a PDF file. In any case there are ways to save a digital copy. If you save the form from the web page then you can use it again and again.

The form can be found here.

I just came across it doing a google search and know nothing about the company ofering the free form nor so I have any connections with them. Just passing along something I found helpful.
