I had a tractor customer today show up in a ford F250 burning biodiesel. I couldnt believe what I smelled, it was just like a deep frier or a donut machine. Anyway it turns out that he sells biodiesel production systems on the side, hes a full time fireman at his day job. He was explaining that for 3 grand he would sell me a machine that makes 40 gals. in 2 days. Also the final cost is 70 cents a gallon to make biodiesel, I thought it was pretty cheap at that price.
If anyone is interested in this please send me a private mail and I will lay the info on you. He goes by Cascade bio-diesel
with all this talk about fuel prices I thought I would post this alternative method for others. If everyone had another way of making fuel we wouldn't be in this fuel dilema today/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've been looking at those systems, not sure if it's his or not.
I thought a co-op of a few diesel truck owners could come out OK on a deal like that, but my fear is as soon as it takes off these restaurants will wise up and stop giving away their oil, then you'd be hosed.

I also check into it. Checked around at several restaurants and they are already selling there oil. There getting 25 cents a gallon. If I was to by the setup it would require getting into a bidding war those buying the oil know. Were would that stop? As usual I'm behind the curve! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

A RYO biodiesel set up has been discussed in the Oil, Fuel and Lubricants forum as well as being shown on the TV series Trucks!.

Thread moved to O, F and L forum.

If you go to this site you will see the system used on the Trucks show. They don't list a price there, but I found the system on another site (forgot the address /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ) and it was selling for about $3000. When I saw it on Trucks, I was thinking someone could probably build their own system for much less than $3000. It didn't look that complicated. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
