Birds of a Feather

I have 2 families of bluebirds that moved into the same multifamily purple martin bird house on top of my garden shed. I figure they must be related normally I thought they didnt like having nest close together>?

Something also made a nest in my white pines and sure carries on a racket (pretty noise really but LOUD) it seems to imitate OTHER birds a lot as well. I have not even SEEN the little sucker yet but it sure is having fun. The starlings and Robins also are agitated by what ever it is due to it imitating them often. I been eliminating the Starlings as they keep tearing off my fascia boards and building nests in the eves. pulled out a dozen nests already this year. the Robins also like to land on the car windows and fight with the side mirror reflection then crap down side of the car. so they are on my list if I see them on or around the cars or trucks... I have a but load of wrens and yesterday seen first Canaries finches flitting about. I dont generally feed any of them other than humming birds in dry summer times. there seems to be half dozen on my place and had 2 nests within view in last few years. There are plenty of bushes & pines for them to hang around in.

I will have to try and get a good look at the new Noise Maker out in the pines this week...

I've seen bluebirds occupy multi-family housing but I think that's only if something happens to their original nest and they are desperate. Orioles showed up yesterday. I hope they stay. With the addition of the jelly feeder now, the backyard looks like a birdfeeder mine-field (seed feeder, 2 thistle seed feeders for the gold finches, the hummingbird feeders, a suet feeder and now the jelly feeder. And don't forget the birdbath even though it had ice on it this morning)

As for robins, they are the state bird here so are protected. Starlings and cowbirds on the other hand come to the feeders at their own risk (even the Audobon Society says have at them).
