Bit bigger than norm but just wanted to show you

I know this is a bit bigger than the beauties normally posted here.......AND it's bigger than I really need for my mowing but it's got the creature comnforts I want (i.e. a proper cab and some DA spools)......AND it was cheap /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's a Case 4230 (80hp) I found in a 'damaged repairables' yard not far from here. I've spoken to the dealer who sold it new (1996) and he has confirmed that it was in good mechanical condition before a car ran into it nearly 3 years ago taking the front axle off.
When the front casting/axle broke away it broke the [tombstone] casting and the engine block making it an insurance write-off.
I've sourced replacement engine block, sump (oil pan), tombstone, front differential (the pinion broke on the original one) and have an agricultural engineer lined up to strip the original engine and rebuild it using the new block.
Total cost including a new door, gaskets, labour, etc. will be around £4000 ($7000).
These tractors are selling for between £8500 and 10,000 ($15,000 to $18,000) in the UK right now.
If I decide not to go ahead I've already got a dealer who will give me a bit more than I paid for it.

NICE !! do they make a belly mower for it ? Actually I would use it to roll hay with if I were to get such a deal on one.

Ahhh, well, yes.......hmmmmm.

Actually 'all' that needs doing is removal and stripping of the engine and rebuilding the engine in a new block. The new engine can then be re-attached to the gearbox.
The work up front basically consists of removing the differential from the front axle and replacing it with the 'new' one. The axle then can be fitted to the replacement tombstone casting which can then be fitted to the front of the engine.
There........simple.
I'm not going to feel a thing, 'cos I'm not doing the work - which may also explain wh it may be done in a few weeks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
My job is paying for the work to be done and then carrying out the most important tasks; trying to clean up the exterior and interior and fitting a big stereo!
I'm sure it can't be that easy but I live in hope. My budget is pretty tight so I'm hoping I've got most things covered. I know there are some hydraulic steering lines that need replacing but that's fairly easy stuff. I'll be very happy just to see all 4 wheels connected.

Attached picture shows where the front of the block/oil pan has been broken off where the front casting bolted on.
