Blacktop is the best HAY barn floor. No floor moisture will wick up through it because its oil based.
Concrete can wick up moisture.
I have a layer of 6 mil poly under my concrete floor.
There has been absolutely no wicking!

I’m just saying I’ve been in some of the biggest hay barns you’ve ever seen and I’m friends with guys that farm 10,000 acres of hay per year and they pave the floors with asphalt and they swear by it.
Now if we’re talking a hobby barn or a heated shop floor, then concrete is better.
I thought we were talking about keeping hay dry....
